Inside the newly opened Roehampton Family Hub
This week, Chapel St opened it’s first Family Hub in Roehampton. Delivering day nursery and extra family services, we are excited to be welcoming the first children and families to our centre. Through the Family Hub, Chapel St is working to develop a new model of education for families.
As well as running a day nursery service that delivers excellent child care and early years education, we want to help families learn and grow together. We’ll be providing optional extra family services, all designed to help parents support their child’s learning at home and maximise the key role they play in their child’s development. From input on children’s education, parenting seminars, training and advice, the Family Hub hopes to serve a wide range of families in one of London’s most diverse communities.
The Family Hub is in ‘The Cornerstone’ building on Alton Road. It’s a vibrant and engaging centre, which provides a designated baby room, sleep facilities, outside play garden and our very own ‘story tree’ – just one of the many places children can enjoy a story or two! Open 8 am – 6 pm, Monday to Friday, the Family Hub is run by a team of nursery practitioners with over 20+ years experience in child care and early years development. Many have served families in and around the Roehampton area in recent years, in particular at Roehampton University’s former nursery, ‘Redford House’. The Family Hub is pleased to be providing day care and family services to parents from the University, Queen Mary’s Hospital and other communities within Roehampton and beyond.
