Chapel St announces the ‘Cassidy Medical Centre and Health Hub’

On August 1st 2010, Chapel St, in conjunction with the Hurley Group, opened the Cassidy Medical Centre and Health Hub in Fulham.

As well as providing first class primary care to a diverse population in a busy London community, this new model health centre provides a range of extended services to make the whole community a whole lot more healthy. Despite the efforts and expertise of the UK’s doctors and nurses many of us treat our local GP Practice as more of a Sickness Centre than a Health Centre; most of the time, we go to the doctor when we’re sick rather than because we’re interested in enjoying better health. Added to this, many of the wonderful clinicians that work in the UK carry the daily frustration of knowing that our health is not often within their power. While doctors and nurses can help to cure us from illnesses and prevent others, upto 60% of the health issues we face are simply beyond their control.

At Cassidy Medical Centre and Health Hub we’re seeking to address these wider issues of publi health. We are working with churches to provide support and friendship those suffering social isolation We are working with SPEAR, a charity helping unemployed young people to find training and work. We are working with Chelsea Football Club to help men to access healthcare and live healthier lives. We are working with local Children’s Centres to provide support to young families. We are working with Foodbank to provide emergency provisions for families struggling to buy food. The list goes on and on but through all our work with local churches and community groups Cassidy Medical Centre is helping thousands of people to live Healthy, Happy Lives.
